Pranayama (Control of Prana, life force, Cosmic Energy):
Pranayama (Sanskrit: prana- vital energy, Ayama- to develop and enhance), the expansion of vital energy and its range. This is the fourth aspect of raja yoga which trail the asana sequences. The asana helps one to surpass the confines of the body and mind and achieve profound consciousness of the koshas up to Pranamaya Kosha. Moreover, it awakens different prana- vital energy. This removes blockages from chakras and paves the path to the awakening of kundalini.
Before proceeding to actual pranayama, breathing practice is done. Pranayama is the result of accomplishing full control over the functions of the upa-pranas or sub-pranas.the control and synchronization of the physiological structure awaken the chakras and here begins pranayama.
Pranayama is the measuring, control, and direction of the breath. The word nadi refers to ‘flow’ of the vital forces which is balanced and aimed at the inner chakra system, which further directs them to the crown chakra. Thus achieve neutralization of breath, perfect relaxation and maintenance of the balance of body activities.
The pranayama-breathing practices and technique awaken the five paranas via controlled inhalation, exhalation and withholding. Thus, breathing is associated with prana in the physical aspect. There are four aspects of breathing technique-pranayama:
1. Pooraka (Inhalation)
2. Rechaka (Exhalation)
3. Antar Kumbhak (Internal breath retention)
4. Bahir Kumbhaka (External breath retention)
Yoga Nidra: (Psychic Sleep)
Yoga Nidra is the practice of Pratyahara. Which bring deep relaxation. The very aim of pratyahara is to eliminate the impact of external factors on our senses. This aspect enables a person to direct and focus all his senses on the vital force which floes in the chakra system. Thus the senses get extremely sharp and active and lead to a path of self-realization.
Yoga Nidra for adult, Yoga Nidra for Children, Yoga Nidra for Wellbeing, Yoga Nidra for Health.
Dharana is followed by dhyana, meaning meditation and deep thinking. Once a person develops psychic awareness, he attains the state of dhyana. Dhayna itself is categorized into three parts:
1. Pratyahara dhyana (meditative state and accomplished through the process of pratyahara.)
2. Dharana Dhyana ( a feeling and emotion of bhakti solely in the sense of purity and simplicity of heart.
3. Dhyana (the ultimate meditative state which concludes in the experience of samyama.)
According to yoga sutras, the uninterrupted flow of conciseness is dhyana. Paramahamsa Satyananda describes it as the ‘fusion of three portions of awareness into one at the time of meditation’. Dhayana may seem like sitting in a certain position yet this is not the state which is the main aim of dhyana. Dhayana is the process in which what is being seen, the person seeing it and the process of seeing become one as these are in the content of consciousness.
